Salem's Education & Learning Opportunities
The mission of the Learning Committee is to provide Christian education opportunities for all ages. These opportunities include Sunday Church School, Catechism, and Community Day Camp. The group also sponsors special events such as Rally Day and a Christmas pageant. Sunday Church School 9:15 – 10:15 AM
Catechism I (6th grade) – Wednesday 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Catechism II (7th Grade) – Wednesday 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Confirmation (8th Grade) – Saturday 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM
(from the Saturday after school starts until Confirmation)
Community Day Camp – one week in July as announced

8:00 am - A liturgical service based on the 1977 Lutheran Book of Worship hymnal
9:15 am - Contemporary Service
9:15 am - Christian Education for all ages
10:30 am - A liturgical service based on the 2008 Evangelical Lutheran Worship hymnal
7:00 pm, 1st Monday of the month - "Nu 'Oli", a Hawaiian Worship Service
Holy Communion is celebrated at every service.
Salem's DASH Strategy
Discipleship -To provide opportunities for our members to grow in their faith and to take on active roles in the life of the church. To create new leaders within the church and to increase our presence in the spiritual life of our community.
Assimilation - To nurture and support each other as we integrate new members into the congregation, providing a welcoming worship experience with opportunities for fellowship. To reach out to inactive members and visitors so that they are encouraged to join us in discipleship.
Service - “The church is the church only when it exists for others…” says Dietrich Bonnhoffer. We reflect God’s love when we serve others. This encompasses our everyday actions as well as our more organized efforts.
Heart – To provide all the resources necessary to meet the vision for the ministry of the Gospel by Salem Lutheran Church. This includes faith, hope, love, courage, and the commitment of time, talents, and treasures by the people of God.
